What can provenance tell me?

Provenance provides evidence of origin and history: the source associated with a record, its integrity, and documented changes. Supporting evidence gives that record context.

Does an origin record prove every claim?

Factual accuracy, physical authenticity, quality, environmental performance, and legal validity each require supporting evidence appropriate to the claim. An origin record is one part of that assessment.
